Honda Key Replacement & Programming in Jacksonville
Mobile Honda key service across the First Coast. Spare keys from $149, all-keys-lost from $199. We come to you — no tow, no dealer wait.
Honda is the second-most-serviced brand in our shop. Civic, Accord, CR-V, and Pilot are everywhere on the First Coast, and Honda's G-chip immobilizer platform (used since 2003) is one of the most aftermarket-friendly systems in the industry. Honda's key family runs on Hitag3 / ID47 transponders with proximity Smart Entry & Start on push-button cars. Honda has not jumped to a fully-locked dealer-only encryption layer the way Mercedes and BMW have, which is why Honda key replacement remains one of the most affordable brand jobs we do — typically $149 for a spare and $199 for all-keys-lost on most popular models. The single most useful thing to know about Honda keys: keep the working one. If you bring us a working key when you order a spare, the programming session is half as long and the price is the lower of our two tiers.
Pre-2010
Pre-2010 Hondas use the G-chip with simple security access — no PIN required. Civic and Accord of this era are among the cheapest keys we cut, often under $120 with programming.
2010 – 2017
2010–2017 Hondas added Smart Entry on Accord, Pilot, and Odyssey EX-L and above. Programming requires the security access procedure but is still aftermarket-supported on every popular trim.
2018 – Now
2018-and-newer Hondas (10th-gen Accord, 11th-gen Civic, 5th-gen CR-V, current Pilot) use a refined Smart Entry fob and the latest revision of the G-chip family. All current Hondas are programmable on-site with our equipment.
Known issues we see
Two recurring Honda issues we see: (1) Smart Entry fobs that need re-syncing after the 12V battery is disconnected — this is a 5-minute fix, not a replacement; (2) the rubber buttons on 2008–2014 Civic/Accord remote heads crack and fall off — we can swap the entire shell during a spare-key visit for $25.

Honda key FAQ
Do I need to bring my Honda to a dealer to program a new key?+
No. We program 99% of Honda keys on-site at your home, work, or driveway in Jacksonville. The only exception is some specialty programming on the brand-new 2024+ Pilot and certain Acura models that require dealer-level encryption.
How much does a Honda Civic key cost?+
A Civic spare key starts at $149 cut and programmed on-site if you have a working original. All-keys-lost starts at $199. Older 2006–2014 Civics with the basic transponder remote head can be even less.
My Honda Smart Entry fob says 'low battery' — do I need a new fob?+
No, just a fresh CR2032 coin battery. The car will warn you weeks before the fob actually stops working. If you want, we can change the battery and inspect contacts during a service stop.
What's the difference between a Honda Acura key and a Honda key?+
Acura uses Honda's underlying immobilizer platform but has its own fob shells, FCC IDs, and slightly stricter programming sessions. Acura jobs typically take 10–15 minutes longer than the equivalent Honda.
